Gien’s Les Dépareillées Vue d’Orient collection features a sublime Oriental landscape with a domed building and a tower, framed by palm trees. It’s an award-winning vintage pattern, which first surfaced in the 1870s and reflects the classic trend towards the Orient at that time. This green tea towel is a variation on this theme with a richly embellished border.

The Faïencerie de Gien was created in 1821 in Gien (Val de Loire), in the heart of France with its own unique style. Faience is a fine glazed earthenware, which dates back to Egyptian times. Today the Faïencerie de Gien, which creates exquisite earthenware is part of a program of excellence. A member of the prestigious Colbert Committee, which brings together the major French luxury brands, it has been awarded the label of a Living Heritage Company.
